Who Was Peter Fields?
Peter Fields was a musician from Fredericksburg who played a rich mix of musical genres on nylon-string guitar. For many years he served as the music minister at UCC Fredericksburg, weaving music into the spiritual life of the congregation week after week.
Peter was also a public servant — he served a tenure as a Stafford County supervisor and was widely known for his rare ability to reconcile different views on difficult issues. He brought the same care and intentionality to civic life that he brought to his music.
To serve the memory of Peter’s peaceful heart and his beautiful music, UCC Fredericksburg is proud to present concerts that honor his legacy — and give back to the community he loved.
“To serve the memory of Peter’s peaceful heart and his beautiful music.”

Inaugural Concert Artists
Ronn McFarlane & Andrew McEvoy
The inaugural Peter Fields Memorial Concert featured a stunning collaboration between lutenist Ronn McFarlane and classical guitarist Andrew McEvoy. Future concert artists will be announced as each event is planned.
Together, McFarlane and McEvoy invited audiences on a journey through the Renaissance in Italy and England, and into modern dreamscapes composed by McFarlane — a pioneering collaboration in search of sympathetic resonance between two instruments centuries apart.
